March Glossybox 2015

Hello my lovelies and a Happy Thursday to you all, whose got that Friday feeling yet? I feel like recently I may have neglected my blog a little. Recently I have been really busy at work and working over time that I just haven't been in the mood to write lot's of blog posts after a long day at work. I feel that blogging shouldn't be a chore. I started my blog as a hobby which I have loved creating and watching it grow. I don't wan't to write blog posts for the sake of writing blog posts, it's something I want to enjoy. I just felt like I needed a break from blogging to re-fresh myself and I now feel in the right mood to write a blog posts for you all. Another reason could be the fact that my March Glossybox arrived yesterday which just filled me with excitement as it's a gooden and it reminded me that I love talking about make-up and beauty which was why I started my blog. The fact that Spring is here also puts me in a good mood. Seeing all the pastel colours with the flowers, lambs, easter and sunnier and warmer days just fills me to the brim with excitement. The March Glossybox is all about the start of Spring and it is packed full with six products I think it could be my favourite ox yet? My personal favourite from last months box would have to be 100% the Tinties lip butter in Coral, in fact I'm pretty sure I mentioned this in my February favourites post. It's a gorgeous and moisturising coral shade that can be built up. It is an orange shade yet with red undertones which I think make it easier to pull off an orange shade if like me you're a bit nervous of orange.

Youthful Vitality Shampoo and Conditioner By Dove
Starting with all things hair, I know it sounds weird but I love trying new shampoo and conditioner. Straightening my hair and getting my ends ombred has left my ends a little worse for wares although I am straightening my hair less and I'm noticing a dramatic change as my ends appear to stay healthier for longer. Any shampoo that mentions repairing dry and damaged hair gets a thumbs up from me so this one defiantly appeals. It also smells really fresh and fruity which is another plus point as let's be honest it's nice to have fresh smelling hair. Being 19 I wouldn't say that my hair is particularly damaged from ageing which is what these products are especially designed for. Yet these claim to make hair softer and shinnier and restore fullness which is what my hair could always do with a top up with. I love the fact that these are smaller tubes or bottles what ever you want to call them. They are the perfect size for traveling so you don't need to mess about transferring shampoo into tiny containers and losing more of the product then what you actually take with you through the process. It's also better then buying full size bottles as it allows you to test the shampoo and conditioner and if it doesn't work you won't be left with a bottle of shampoo three quarters full that just sits at the back of your bathroom cupboard for two years. Dove is a very natural brand with nourishing goodness so for those of you with sensitive skin I would recommend giving Dove ago. These are individually proved at £5.99 each.

Moisturising Peeling Exfoliator By NAOBAY
Moving on from hair to face, the next product is one that excites me greatly. This is from another brand that I'm new to but thats another thing I love about Glossybox is it's a way to discover new and exciting brands. This is an organic peeling milk which you can use as a face scrub to exfoliate your face by removing any dirt, dead skin cells and impurities that may be clogging up your pores. You should aim to exfoliate your face about once a week and I usually try and do mine every Saturday just so I get into the routine and I don't forget. Massage the product into damp skin and then wash off with a wet cloth. I love the feeling once I've used an exfoliator, my skin feels really soft and nourished afterwards you just know you've done your skin some good after smothering it in make-up for the rest of the week. I love the natural and organic principles behind this brand as having sensitive skin I'm always cautious of trying new products and the more natural the better in my eyes. I also love the sleek and simple packaging of the product it's right up my street. You can pick one of these up for £13.71 so they are a little pricy compared to others although I think it will be worth it. I will leave a comment on how I get on with this one.

Lash Princess Volume Mascara By Essence
Now this is what I call a hearty mascara. The product is massive so you must get your moneys worth with this one. Mascara isn't something I get massively excited about to be honest. I naturally have quite long lashes and I find a lot of mascaras despite the brand, wand and shape seem to have a similar effect. Yet saying all that I still have my favourites and I won't say no to a freebie. I don't normally use a curved wand although I really like the shape of this wand as it is shaped to match your eyelids allowing you to get an even distribution of mascara giving a more natural effect. This mascara claims to enhance length and volume. Although I've never tried any products from essence before and giving the cobra shaped wand I'm excited to give this mascara a whirl as I think it's going to be a gooden and reduce the amount of time it takes to apply mascara. You can pick one of these up for £3.30 so it is definitely a more affordable mascara.

Pout Paint By Sleek
Sleek is one of my favourite brands from the hughstreet. I especially love their face products such as their bronzers, blushers and highlighters. I have always wanted to try some of their lip products but for some reason I haven't got round to it until now. The pout paint is a liquid lipstick which allows you to have a choice on how bold you want your lipstick to be allowing you to build it up for a more bolder colour or less layers for a more sheer subtle look. This lipstick is in the shade port which is a gorgeous deep berry shade that would be perfect for the Autumn/Winter or for a night out. They do so many gorgeous shades I also have my eye on Milkshake and Rosette as I do like my pinks. I also think that this is the sort of lip product that would last you a long time as a little goes a long way so you would definitely get your moneys worth. You can pick one of these up for £4.99.

Nail Polish By ncLA
The colour of this nail polish just sums up Spring. For those of you who have been following my blog for a while now you will all know that I have a real weakness for nail polish. I own way too many and far more than a healthy amount, yet I use them all regularly which I keep telling myself to justify my ever growing collection. When I opened my Glossybox my eyes were drawn straight away to this product to the vibrant coral shade which is a pale neon orange. I don't own any nail polishes from ncLA yet it will probably be another brand that I become obsessed with and purchase more of just to add to my collection. Looking at their website I know for a sure fact that this gem will be joined by others in the future they have an amazing range of colours and textures I could quite happily buy the whole range. Colours in particular would be Eight Days A Week (pastal sky blue) and Clear The Runway (deep reddish burgundy). If you're a fan of glitters then this would also be a brand to check out. This colour in particular is called I Only Fly Private which I just love the name of. I think it will look amazing on both the finger and toe nails. I just know that this will become a staple shade for me during Spring/Summer. Seeing as these are priced at £13 I am expecting good things from this one as it's in the more high end price range.

I hope you enjoyed reading this blog post my lovelies. Again I am sorry that I haven't been posting many posts recently but I think I may have rediscovered the blogging bug and I have lot's of ideas planned for the upcoming months. I'm really excited for next months blog as my sneak preview tells me that there will be a lip crayon from Lord and Berry which is something I have always wanted to try. Let me know in the comments if you have tried any of these products and what you thought of them.

February Favourites 2015

Good afternoon my lovelies, I'm so excited that it's the finally March as it means Spring is on it's way which means longer, warmer and sunnier days which just gives me that feel good factor. I love waking up and driving to work when it's light and sunny. It just puts me in such a good mood for the rest of the day, roll on Summer! I'm sorry that this is slightly late but I have a February favourites post for you all today, and who doesn't love a monthly favourites post?

Brown Kohl Eyeliner By Barry M

Wearing brown eye liner has become a firm part in my everyday make-up routine and ever since I picked up this eye liner I have worn it every day since. Before I never understood brown eye liner I just had it in my head that it would leave me looking slightly psychotic. However, I had a lil 'shop my stash' session a while back where I rediscovered a Bourjois eye pallet which contained two neutral shadows and a brown cream eye liner. Seeing as only the shadows had been touched I thought it was about time that I tried brown eye liner. After one use I had been converted and it's just taken me this long to pick another one up in a kohl pencil form. For those of you who have read my blog for a while now you will all know my frustration with liquid eye liner. I find it really difficult to apply. No matter how many tutorials I watch or the amount of times I practice I can't apply it. I have issues with the flick, issues making the eyes look vaguely similar and I also have issues applying the eye liner close enough to my eye lashes with out having two random black lines across my eye lids. So I've just made a pact to myself to give up with liquid liner and stick to what I know best with kohl pencils. I apply the kohl eyeliner along my waterline and across my lids just above my lashes. The good thing about kohl pencils is that they're versatile so you can leave the eye liner as a line or you can smudge it out to give a softer smokey eye affect. I think that brown eye liner is perfect for an everyday look as it is a lot softer then black yet I just find it really helps to emphasise my eyes. It's perfect for a natural, soft make-up look for the Spring and Summer.

Taupe Modele Nail Polish By Bourjois

This past month I have noticed that grey nail polish seems to have been a firm favourite amongst the beauty trends and I hate to miss a trend and I have to admit that I have worn grey nail polish a lot during February. I was converted to grey nail polish last year as I think it looks really nice for a neutral look. Especially when wearing neutral colours or with a nice grey jumper you just can't beat a grey nail polish. I love this one by Bourjois but I have to admit for many years I was 100% against grey nails. It has a really glossy smooth formula which is quite sheer but you still only need two or three coats. This polish lasts a long time and it doesn't chip easily. It's the only Bourjois polish I own yet I may have to pick up a few more of these little gems especially when they bring out their Spring shades as I'm a sucker for pastel nail polish.

Tinties Lip Butter By Royal Apothic

I received this little beauty in my February Glossybox and it is just gorgeous. It's called a lip butter and the best way I can describe/compare it too is a Revlon lip butter in lip balm packaging. It doesn't remind me of the thicker lip butters that the Body Shop sell I would describe it more as a sheer lipstick. It is a gorgeous coral shade and since I made my hair ombre I think it really compliments my blond ends making it look more softer. Although it's a lip butter it is still really glossy. This is probably the most useless review of this by saying it's a cross between a lip balm, a lip butter and a lip stick yet it's true. It's non scented and it isn't sticky which are all good points ticked for me personally. The packaging is stunning, I'm a sucker for a bit of rose gold. I have worn this most days this month and I just know that I will wear it continually throughout the Spring/Summer. Just typing this makes me dead excited for the Summer it's 100% my favourite time of year. I would describe it as an orange balm with red undertones which makes an orange lip easier to wear as previously I have struggled to find orange lip sticks that suit me. Being a lip butter it's really moisturising on the lips yet I think we should still call it a lip butter rather then a lip stick as the colour doesn't last for hours but it's really good to apply it on the go as it will keep your lips moisturised throughout the day whilst maintaining the colour.

So .. Much Bubble Bubble Bath By Along Came Betty

This has been my favourite bubble bath recently. I'll be honest I'm not familiar with this brand but I love the quirky packaging which reminds me of Soap and Glory which also do amazing pamper products. Although the best thing about this product is the scent, and Oh my it's good. I just want to put this out there that I'm rubbish at describing scents but the way I would describe this one is a cross between citrus lemons with marshmallows. Now I'm not usually a massive fan of lemon bath scents as I'm paranoid that I'm going to come out of the bath/shower smelling of cleaning products but I would say that this is a really subtle citrus scent which isn't over powering or clinical. It's more of a sweet sherberty scent. It's a pretty pale pink colour which creates loads of lovely bubbles for your bath. I think I picked this up from Tesco's but I'm not sure where else you can find this brand but I would definitely re-purchase this product. It also leaves your skin feeling really soft and I think it would be good for those of you who have sensitive skin as it's really gentle and nourishing.

Sensuously Smooth Shampoo By Herbal Essences

The last product which I have been loving this past month is a shampoo by Herbal Essences. I think you can probably tell how much I loved this judging by the empty bottle in the picture. The fact it's empty really bugs me as it means I now need to buy more and I can't take a prettier picture for my blog - blogger problems. First of all I know that this shouldn't be an important factor when it comes to shampoo but I really like the packaging of this one. It reminds me of the older packaging for Herbal Essences which I preferred compared to the new neon packaging they use. It has a natural retro look to it. The shampoo itself is a dark berry pink colour so thats what you need to look out for when picking up this product. I'm a massive fan of my berry shades - again a really irrelevant factor when it comes to buying shampoo but I recon subconsciously we're still attracted to certain products based on their colour. This shampoo specialises in the fact it's for dry/damaged hair and it will leave it feeling silky smooth. Which I would say it does achieve. After using this shampoo I have noticed that my hair is particularly shiny, more so then from using other shampoos. It feels really soft afterwards and I feel as if it takes longer before it starts to appear greasy. I will be repurchasing this shampoo when I next pop to the supermarket where it is highly likely that I will also be re-purchasing the bubble bath. This shampoo also smells amazing - again not a major factor but you still want your hair to smell nice after washing it. The scent is described as ginger, cinnamon and banana none of which I would say it definitely smells like but what I will say is that fresh and fruity. If you ever walk past this shampoo even if you don't buy it, just stop to give it a sniff.

I hope you enjoyed this February favourites blog post my lovelies. Let me know in the comments if you have tried any of these products and what you thought of them. I would also love to know what your favourite products have been this past month. Thank you so much for reading this post and I hope you all enjoy the rest of your days.
